Gentleman with pipe (6)

Gentleman with pipe

Charisma does not fade with time as hair color. Its light does not dim as the years wipe out the pink shades of complexion.
Charisma is a virtue that does not always perform in a duo with Beauty because it’s an enchanting solo that needs no accompaniment. It is an energy, perhaps, as it is perceived just in the same way that the strength of energies is perceived.

As I walk among the euphoric effervescence of Piccadilly on a cold Sunday in September, I spot in the crowd the silhouette of a man with an elegance that cuts through the air.

He is dressed in the sober tones of grey but his mysterious silhouette stands out among the people as if he wore the sheen of silver. I would like to capture the classicism of his figure right away, before seeing it dissipate forever among the rainbow of the crowd.

dI notice him stopping a short distance…

from the entrance of Waterstones bookshop where he must have been that morning, as the bag of newly purchased books in his hand reveals. He stands against the wall, takes out his wooden pipe from his coat pocket, he bows his head beneath the brim of his hat, shielding the flame of his lighter with his hand and lights his pipe. I capture the scene and I carry on with my stroll towards Westminster, leaving behind me the figure of this mysterious gentleman of whom I keep the portrait and I will never know the name.

This shot, entitled “Gentleman with pipe”, is part of the collection created for the video “London – Bridge of Emotions” , where the image of this unknown Londoner is accompanied by the beautiful and captivating piece “The man who loved dragons “, by Maestro Lorenzo Pescini.
The video is edited by the artist Sandro Sansone who has also created the sequence in which the images appear.

I wish you a serene night and a pleasant listening and viewing.
